One of my favorite memories.... we used to go and collect"chiribisco" all over empty lots . Then we got toghether with a couple of neighbors and have de biggest bom fire in the neighborhood. In my time they didn't make pinatas but my mom used to make a dummy (like Judas on Holly Week)made out of some plastic bags and stuffed with newspaper. we covered with red tissue paper(papel de china rojo) and my dad would attach the longuest "ametralladora"(like the strings of firecrackers)for a tail...it was so much fun.
