RITUALS AROUND THE PROCESSION

Right after the procession comes the City Cleaning Crew.






At the atriums of the churches or along the sidewalk you will find all sorts of street vendors, mainly of food.

Selling tostadas, enchiladas and panes con chile.


Selling and preparing in boiling oil plataninas, churros and potato chips.


Selling ayote, jocote y naranja en dulce (caramelized fruit)


Accompanying the crowds are the foot merchants selling all sorts of traditional foods and toys.

Selling chupetes a quetzal. (Hand made lollipops at Q1.00) 



Selling Cucuruchos made out of foam (Q5.00).


Selling bunches for Palm Sunday at the steps of the Iglesia de La Merced.



The man with the bicycle is transporting three blocks of ice that later will be sold as snow cones!
